A nice surprise we found while exploring the Xiaomi 14 Pro running HyperOS was the ease with which we could remove several preloaded apps.
- Access the App Drawer: Open the app drawer on your Xiaomi 14 Pro running HyperOS.
- Identify Preloaded Apps: Identify the preloaded apps you want to uninstall, such as Mi Video, Mi Music, Security app, Gallery, or certain games.
- Long-Press on the App: Long-press on the icon of the app you want to uninstall. This action typically activates the app management mode.
- Select Uninstall Option: Look for and select the “Uninstall” or a similar option that appears on the screen.
- Confirm Uninstallation: Confirm your decision to uninstall the app when prompted. This step may involve tapping “OK” or confirming your choice.
- Repeat for Other Apps: Repeat the process for each preloaded app you wish to uninstall.
- Check App Drawer: After uninstalling the apps, check your app drawer to ensure the selected applications have been successfully removed.
By following these steps, you should be able to uninstall various preloaded apps on the Xiaomi 14 Pro running HyperOS, providing a more streamlined and personalized user experience.
The Remaining Hurdles
Even though HyperOS has made progress, there are still some apps that won’t go away. The Mi Browser and GetApps are two examples. Even though these apps can’t be completely removed, they are a step in the right way for Xiaomi. It is clear that the company wants to give users more power over their device experience, and we expect more improvements in the future
Seamless Execution
One thing that makes HyperOS stand out is how easy it is to get rid of unwanted applications. Interestingly, you don’t need a PC or any ADB tools to do the process. The new version is different from the old one because it doesn’t require users to go through a lot of trouble to clean up their devices.
