With this new update though you can long press on a widget, go into its properties, and turn off the option:

New Feature: Convert Currency

Xiaomi has also added a new feature that will be useful for those who travel or have business overseas – an in-built currency converter. The feature is integrated into the MIUI calculator and will allow users to quickly convert between multiple currencies:

Lite Mode added to MIUI Launcher’s Home Screen section

In the latest MIUI 14 update, we’ve added a new Lite mode to the Home Screen section of our launcher. This mode is designed for devices with low-end hardware and limited storage space.

VoLTE icon changed, VoLTE icon is combined into one box even if you use dual SIM

Simply look for the new icon and you’ll know that you’re able to take advantage of higher-quality voice calls and faster data speeds.

Old Control Center style removed (Android 13)

If you’re not a fan of MIUI’s permanent notifications, you can now disable them directly from the Notification Panel. Simply open the panel and tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner. From there, select ” Disable Permanent Notifications.”

This is a great way to declutter your notification panel if you don’t find MIUI’s default behavior useful. It’s also worth noting that this setting only applies to MIUI devices; other Android devices will still display permanent notifications by default.

Added Recognize text on images features in Gallery.

Xiaomi has added a new feature to its Gallery app that allows users to recognize text on images. The feature is currently available on the following devices:

Mi Code hints that the Clock app will soon be allowed to be uninstalled.

Since the release of MIUI 10, Xiaomi has been working hard to improve the overall user experience of its custom Android skin. A recent code change in the latest MIUI Developer ROM hints that the company may soon allow users to uninstall the Clock app from their devices.

This is not the first time we’ve seen this particular code change, as it was also present in an earlier version of the Developer ROM. However, it’s worth noting that Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm this feature.

If implemented, this would be a welcome addition for many users, as the Clock app is one of the few Xiaomi-developed apps that cannot be uninstalled without root access. Allowing users to uninstall it would free up some valuable storage space on devices with limited internal storage.

We will continue to keep an eye out for any further developments on this front and let you know if and when Xiaomi makes this feature available to all users.

Mi Code Hints that Qualcomm’s LE Audio Support will be added soon

Qualcomm’s Low Energy Audio (LEA) standard is designed to provide high-quality audio streaming with low power consumption. The standard is supported by a number of Qualcomm chipsets, including the Snapdragon 845, 835, and 820.

Xiaomi has been increasingly adding support for Qualcomm standards to its MIUI skin for Android, and a recent code commit suggests that LEA support may be added soon. The commit adds strings related to “bluetooth_le_audio”, hinting that the feature is in development.

If Xiaomi does add LEA support to MIUI 14, it would be a welcome addition for owners of compatible devices. The standard promises better audio quality and lower power consumption than traditional Bluetooth streaming, making it ideal for listening to music or podcasts on the go.

MIUI Anti-Fraud Protection

As the name suggests, MIUI’s Anti-Fraud Protection feature protects your device from fraudsters and malicious apps. It uses a machine learning algorithm to identify and block suspicious activities on your device. This includes blocking phishing attempts, malware, and other types of malicious apps.

Redesigned permission pop-up

Since the release of MIUI 10, Xiaomi has been working hard to improve the overall user experience of its custom Android skin. A big part of that has been a complete redesign of the permission pop-up, which is now simpler and easier to understand.

The old permission pop-up was a bit cluttered and confusing, with a lot of information crammed into a small space. The new pop-up is much cleaner and clearer, with only the most important information displayed. This makes it easier to understand what permissions are being requested, and whether or not you want to grant them.

One downside of the new design is that it doesn’t display as much information as the old one. So if you’re uncertain about a particular permission, you may have to do some research before making a decision. But on the whole, the new design is a vast improvement over the old one, and makes Xiaomi’s custom Android skin more user-friendly.

New widgets menu icon

The new widgets menu icon is located in the upper-right corner of the screen and provides quick access to your widgets. Simply tap on the icon and a list of your available widgets will appear. From there, you can tap on a widget to add it to your home screen.

Can’t record audio in incognito mode

If you’re using a Xiaomi device running MIUI and you can’t record audio in incognito mode, there are a few things you can try.

First, make sure that the microphone is turned on in your device’s settings. To do this, go to Settings > Permissions > Microphone and ensure that the toggle is set to “On”.

If that doesn’t solve the problem, try restarting your device. If that still doesn’t work, try clearing the cache of the MIUI recorder app. To do this, go to Settings > Apps > MIUI Recorder and tap “Clear Cache”.

If you’re still having trouble recording audio in incognito mode, contact Xiaomi customer support for help.

Redesigned Launcher Settings Menu

The new settings menu for the MIUI 14 launcher has been redesigned to be more user-friendly and intuitive. The old menu was confusing and difficult to navigate, so we’ve made some changes to make it easier to find what you’re looking for.

We’ve also added a few new features, such as the ability to backup and restore your launcher settings, and the option to automatically update your launcher when a new version is available.

To access the new settings menu, simply tap the “Settings” icon in the top-right corner of the launcher.

The Memory Extension is also shown in the memory status in the recent view

The Memory Extension is also shown in the memory status in the recent view. The currently available space is displayed in blue and the used space is displayed in orange. The total space of the memory card is displayed on the left side while the free space is displayed on the right side.

New Bubble Notification Feature was added in the Floating Windows Section (Currently for tablets and Foldables Only)

As we all know, Xiaomi is one of the most popular smartphone brands in the world. Recently, they’ve added a new feature to their MIUI interface: bubble notifications. This feature is currently only available for tablets and foldable devices, but it’s a great addition nonetheless.

With this new feature, you’ll be able to see your notifications as floating bubbles on your screen. This means that you won’t have to swipe down from the top of your screen to view them; they’ll be right there in front of you. Not only is this more convenient, but it also frees up some space on your screen.

Of course, this isn’t the only change that Xiaomi has made to their MIUI interface; they’ve also added a number of other features and improvements. However, we think that the bubble notification feature is one of the most useful additions.
